Shriners for children medical center

909 S Fair Oaks Avenue, Pasadena CA

A modern, state-of-the-art facility focused on care for children, this project focused on featuring local artists. Grigio conducted research in the community by connecting with galleries, art fairs, and art walk organizers to find a pool of artists whose work related to both children and adults. On a limited budget and with key areas having wall graphics rather than artwork, Grigio focused on making small, unique points of interest throughout the two children’s floors. The third floor holds large foundation and board meetings, as well as fundraising events, calling for an entirely range of artwork.

The majority of the artwork on the children’s floors was created by local artists. This piece shows the iconic Pasadena Rose Bowl alongside a imaginative view of floating blimps.
