The Thelma McMillan Recovery Center selected Grigio to elevate the look and feel of their adult and adolescent suites after a finishes refresh. A safe space for alcohol and chemical dependency treatment, McMillen desired an upgrade that reflected their high standard of care and visually set them apart from other recovery center options. Grigio developed a package that promoted a sense of calm, reflected the airy and beachy natural elements of the surrounding area, and provided a polished look with unique mediums and substrates.
Two oversized mixed-media commissions by LeeAnn Brook anchor each elevator lobby, a set of dimensional feather works by Chris Maynard lighten the atmosphere of the adult waiting area, and a blend of landscape and macro nature photography produced on aluminum with metal framing provides crisp, clean, and durable art features in the adult suite. For the adolescent suite, Grigio custom designed wallscapes where two large, vectorized graphics are split into multi-panel installations. A continuation of the graphic style and color palette of the corridors, the adolescent waiting area features a series of illustrated vignettes across a set of three commissioned paintings by Melissa Arendt on cloud-shaped wood boards.
