Kaiser Permanente Sports Medicine Center at the Golden 1 Center
Located inside the new Golden 1 Center, Kaiser Permanente opened a state-of-the-art 18,000 SF Sports Medicine Center in the fall of 2016. Grigio consulted with the client and the architect/interior designer, AECOM, to develop an art plan that complemented the modern design of the space and finishes, which were neutral with bold pops of color.
The entry was the main art location, with two huge bare walls leading to the reception desk from the elevator. We opted for a set of custom sculptural pieces that scattered along the walls, signifying movement and activity.
In the waiting area, a local artist’s piece shows an interpretation of the Sacramento river. Throughout the hallways, a local photographer was featured with nature images printed onto aluminum squares. Exam rooms featured wrapped canvas prints with abstract images of runners and bikers.
The project was completed on time and on budget for the grand opening.
